Chief Operating Officer

Drake U'u serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Pro Insight. U’u assists in managing the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the organization, with a focus on optimizing strategy. He specializes in amateur and professional talent evaluation, with a rich background in basketball both as an NBA front office executive and player.
U’u spent the previous five seasons working in the basketball operations department for the Sacramento Kings (2015-2020). His areas of focus included player development, scouting, strategy, and intel with his most recent role serving as Assistant General Manager for the Kings’ G-League affiliate, the Stockton Kings. During his tenure as Assistant GM, Stockton recorded back-to-back playoff appearances, ranking first in unique player call-ups (8), first in call-ups to a non-parent affiliate (6), and third in total wins (76). U’u played a major role in the development of Kings’ assets such as Harry Giles, Frank Mason, Wenyen Gabriel, Kyle Guy, and Daquan Jeffries while also providing platforms for players such as Cody Demps, Eric Mika, and Gabe Vincent to showcase their talent and receive NBA call-ups. Under his leadership, Stockton became one of the strongest developmental programs in the G-League.
Prior to joining the Kings, U’u played professionally for two seasons in Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL) for the Perth Wildcats. U’u was a member of the 2013-14 Championship team, where he helped the Wildcats to a 25-8 record. Prior to the Wildcats, U’u played four seasons collegiately for the Cal Poly Mustangs of the Big West Conference.
U’u earned his bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, where he studied Business Administration and minored in Industrial Technology. A Sacramento native, U’u attended Rio Americano High School and continues to reside in Sacramento.
