In the latest edition of ‘P.I. Pulse,’ Pro Insight’s Esayas Gebrekidan highlights an array of prospects who stood out at last month's MADE Hoops Miami Tip-Off, an event featuring some of the top teams in the nation:
Beckham Black | 6’3” Guard | Southeastern Prep (FL) | 2027
Black's arsenal was on full display in Miami as he scored at all three levels, generated excellent shots for teammates and defended from start to finish. With Black, everything begins with his ability to break down the defense off the dribble, as he unselfishly looks to set the table for his guys and get them going first. Although he finished with 2 assists, he regularly made heady reads, manipulating the defense with his court vision, consistently finding the open man, which led to plenty of hockey assists. As he continued to get into the middle of the defense, his teammates did a great job moving without the ball, allowing Black to showcase his diverse scoring package. He finished with 18 points on 50% FG and 42.7% 3FG, getting to his spots off the dribble while also doing a great job being effective off the ball.
Oneal Delancy | 6’3” Guard | Montverde Academy (FL) | 2027
Delancy brought the fight against a very talented Southeastern Prep team. Embracing the physical style of play, the junior stayed in attack mode, showing an ability to play through contact and knock down shots with a body on him. He didn't record an assist but did show he is capable of leading the break, routinely pushing the ball up the floor and looking for the kick-ahead. Defensively, Delancy was physical, played with great energy and got into ball handlers and played the gaps.
Arafan Diane | 7’0” Big | Iowa United (IA) | 2026 *Committed: Houston
The Houston-bound big’s paint presence on both ends played a major role in a close loss to Prolific Prep. Although he uncharacteristically did not score, his impact was felt on the boards (15 rebounds), his ability to act as a secondary playmaker (5 assists) and with his rim protection (2 blocks). Diane gave his team multiple opportunities on the offensive end, finishing with 5 offensive rebounds and displayed good vision and feel as a connective piece. The few times Diane struggled was when he was doubled in the post – which led to a couple turnovers – but overall, his physicality, size and length bothered and deterred opponents.
Mading Kuany | 6’9” Forward | Iowa United (IA) | 2026
Kuany was by far one of the most intriguing prospects in the field, regardless of ranking or recruitment status. At a lanky 6’9”, Kuany is a slim hybrid forward with functional length and athleticism. He was exceptional in a close game against the top team in the nation, showcasing his two-way skillset and impact for Iowa United. On the offensive end, Kuany displayed his ability to score with or without the ball – he has the ability to beat defenders off the dribble to get to his spots but also moves well without the ball, finding gaps in the defense as a cutter. Defensively, Kuany was physical, and did a great job locking and trailing, using his length to be disruptive, often turning ball handlers with his lateral agility.
Hunter McGraw | 6’3” Guard | Dynamic Prep (TX) | 2027
McGraw understands his role as the lead guard on this team. He is selective and efficient when looking to score, while also facilitating the offense and defending the length of the floor. His dominant performance stemmed from his ability to find teammates on O and pressure opposing ball handlers on D. McGraw's vision, passing, and selflessness were evident throughout a commanding win on opening night at the Miami Tip-Off. He finished with 7 assists, consistently passing up good shots to find teammates for even better ones. Defensively, he was equally impactful; although he recorded just one steal, his persistent ball pressure and active hands forced multiple turnovers.
Trae Nunn | 6’4” Guard | Dynamic Prep (TX) | 2026 *Committed: Columbia
Nunn is a big guard with a strong frame and a fundamentally sound game. He is an elite shooter with a quick release – capable of scoring off the dribble, on the move, or from a stationary position. His off-ball movement and shooting created extra space for his teammates, allowing the offense to flow seamlessly in the half-court. In the win against Columbus, Nunn leveraged his shooting ability to beat defenders off the dribble and serve as a secondary playmaker, finishing with 2 assists.
Felipe Quinones | 6’4” Guard | Columbus HS (FL) | 2026 *Committed: Florida Atlantic
Quinones was a standout performer in a tough loss to Dynamic Prep, finishing with 11 points and 11 assists. The FAU commit showcased an impressive balance of scoring, playmaking and defensive effort. His IQ, vision, and ability to effectively initiate and lead the offense were on full display, as he consistently got to his spots and created scoring opportunities for teammates. On defense, Quinones displayed strong awareness and instincts, excelling in help defense and understanding his responsibilities in the gaps.
CJ Rosser | 6’10” Forward | Southeastern Prep (FL) | 2027
In a win over Montverde, Rosser came out and set the tone early. He played with a high motor, awareness on both ends, and he crashed the boards, cut and defended with energy. The big wing knocked down a three to start the game en route to a 21-point outing, including 6-12 from range. He did a great job utilizing his shooting gravity to keep the defense on its toes but also began cutting and moving without the ball, forcing the defense to make a decision which in the end benefited his team. On the defensive end, Rosser is a versatile piece who can switch up and down a lineup. He can also provide rim protection, using his length to frustrate opponents at the rim.
DaKari Spear | 6’5” Guard | Dynamic Prep (TX) | 2026 *Committed: Texas Tech
Spear is a high IQ guard who possesses good awareness, instincts and feel on both ends. He scores in a variety of ways and gets to his spots whether it be off the dribble or on the move. In Miami, he was patient and efficient in his attempts and didn’t look to force anything, but took what the defense gave him, finishing with 16 points on 60% FG and 42.7% 3FG. When the defense began to close out hard, Spears beat defenders off the dribble, rarely bouncing the ball more than twice, and still got in the paint for a finish or moved the ball to the open man.
