Recruiting Roundup: Kacper Klaczek

6’8 senior Kacper Klaczek, has made his long awaited college decision, and has committed to St. Joseph’s (PA). Sharp playmaking, relentless rebounding, versatile scoring, and a nonstop motor are some standout traits in Klaczek’s game. He’ll be making the transition to college from a top-notch high school program at Long Island Lutheran, where he plays with other top talents.

This week, Klaczek spent some time chatting with Pro Insight’s Jake Lieberman, breaking down the reasoning behind his decision to play for the Hawks.

For the next installment of “Recruiting Roundup,” we present class of 2021 prospect Kacper Klaczek, originally from Poland:

Pro Insight: What were the most important factors in your college decision?

Kacper Klaczek: My relationship with Coach Lange, and the fit and style of play that just fits me very well. Also, I love the people out there. My relationship with coaches was awesome right from the start. I’m sure we are going to do great things down there.

PI: Was it challenging to build relationships with programs via Zoom meetings during this ongoing pandemic? Did you get used to it?

KK: I don’t think you can ever get used to it, it’s just so different than normal. But, with the coaches from St. Joe’s, it really clicked right away. I became on board with their program, their vision, and what they wanted was what I wanted. I wouldn’t say I got used to it, but with them it felt the most normal.

PI: What set St. Joes’ apart? What made them different from the rest of your options?

KK: They have a clear plan for me. Their vision is very similar to mine. Their basketball philosophy is also exactly like mine. I am sure they are going to help me get to the NBA, and I have full faith in them. What sets them apart is the people. It’s just a perfect fit for me.

PI: What was Coach Lange’s reaction when you told him?

KK: They were pumped!

PI: What are you going to bring to St. Joe’s? What's the best part of your game?

KK: I am very versatile. I can do what coaches ask me, I am bringing everything. I’m bringing playmaking, defense, shooting, size — I’ll do whatever we need to win the game.

PI: Lastly, do you have any message for Hawks fans who are thrilled about your commitment?

KK: Our mission is simple: we are going to win games. That’s what we are going to do.
