With the college season underway, we will continue to ramp up our 2025 NBA draft coverage and to kick things off, we’ll spend the month of November taking a look through our Film Study lens to analyze the NCAA’s top returners, transfers, and breakout players for the 2024-25 cycle.

💡➡️ Defensive playmaker, totaling 1.5 SPG and although he averaged less than 1 BPG last year, he regularly contests and alters shots
6’4” Guard | Kentucky | Junior
💡➡️ 3&D specialist with a strong frame, plus-athleticism, and length
💡➡️ Broke out in 2023-2024, as he finished the season averaging 11.4 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 1 APG, and 1.5 SPG, shooting 49.3 FG% and 37.7 3FG%
💡➡️ High motor – does all the little things – crashes the offensive boards (72.2% on putbacks) and poses a threat as a cutter (64.4% on basket cuts)

💡➡️ Stretch big with some agility; skilled and a plus-athlete who’s interchangeable within a lineup and scores in a variety of ways
💡➡️ Put up 16.2 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.7 APG and 1 BPG as a soph
💡➡️ Spaces the floor, crashes the o-glass and pushes the ball in transition
💡➡️ Has improved as a finisher in the paint, but still has room to grow as a back-to-the-basket scorer
💡➡️ Defends multiple positions; functions as rim protector, coming off a season in which he held opponents to 45.9% on rim attempts
6’3” Guard | Indiana | RS-Sophomore
💡➡️ In his first full season playing basketball since his senior year of high school, Rice was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, All-Pac-12 First Team and All-Freshman team, and earned Freshman of the Week seven times
💡➡️ Excelled in his role as the primary ball-handler, as he averaged 3.8 APG (WSU went 11-2 in games where he posted 5 or more assists)

💡➡️ Elite defender who guards multiple positions due to his size and length, making it hard for opponents to find a rhythm
💡➡️ Vital piece of North Texas’ 12th-ranked scoring defense in 2023-2024; when he was the primary defender, he held opponents to 33.3 FG%, 25.3 3FG%, and 43.9 FG% at the rim

💡➡️ His feel, awareness and motor to track rebounds makes him a tough opponent to box out and keep off the glass
💡➡️ Excelled in a variety of roles, last year as he can play in the post (54.9 FG%) where he finishes with both hands, as a roller (67.4 FG%) and in transition (74.3 FG%)
💡➡️ An area of his game we may see more of this season is his range shooting, after converting 34.4% on less than 3PA/game in 2023-24
💡➡️ Defensively versatile; strong enough to play in the post, walling up and forcing opponents to finish over him but also keep guards in front, moves his feet well and uses his length to bother ball handlers

💡➡️ Decent three-point threat but especially strong from the corners (38.9%) and via C&S (37.5%)
💡➡️ Solid defender who can pick up full-court; applies ball pressure, turns ball handlers, plays in the gaps, etc.
